I bought a plane ticket to Miami yesterday, so I can go visit him in 2 months. Matthew is my SIL's 7 month old baby boy. They live in Miami, so I only get to see him a few times every year. Since my SIL is a teacher and has summers off, I have gotten to see him twice since he was born in December. When they left last week, I knew the next time they planned on visiting would be in December for Christmas and his 1st birthday. I just couldn't go 5 months without seeing him, so I bought a ticket to go see him at the end of October for Halloween. My SIL and BIL bought a new house last month, so I am also going down to see the new place. I happen to be going to Miami the weekend of Fantasy Fest in Key West. Fantasy Fest is a crazy, out-of-control, adult Mardi Gras. Everybody keeps telling me that I have to go down there at least once in my life, but I don't think that is the place for babies. Like I told my SIL, I will be just fine staying at the house loving on my baby. Scott unfortunately won't be able to go due to lack of vacation days. Hopefully we will get to go back down there soon to visit and take a cruise out of Miami. HINT, HINT!!
Please keep my mom's husband, Rick, in your prayers. He has been battling pneumonia/lung issues for the past 2 months. He has been to specialist and had many test. I know my mom is nervous after losing my dad to lung cancer 6 years ago. The doctors have not even mentioned the "c" word, but I'm sure it is something my mom thinks about. He is on lots of meds and hopefully will be better really soon. We are leaving for a family beach trip in only 9 days, so I know he is doing all he can to get well. I think we should dress Matthew up for Fantasy Fest!!! That would be A LOT of fun!!!
