As most of you already know, I was diagnosed with MFH (malignant fibrous histiocytoma) on Monday. I went back to my doctor that did surgery on June 2, 2010 to have my stitches removed. The MD read the pathology report for the first time while sitting with me in the exam room. He was as shocked as I was that what we thought was a ganglion cyst was actually sarcoma. Luckily, my mom went with me to the doctor's appointment. The nurses called and got me in with an oncologist at UAB yesterday. Scott, mom, and I spent all day seeing doctors and getting scans/test/etc. We will go back Monday for all the results and to decide on a game plan. We need nothing except prayers. Pray specifically that the cancer has not spread. The doctors said that if this type of cancer metastasized it would be to my lungs. I had a chest CT yesterday and will know Monday if the cancer is anywhere other than my left knee. We all feel CERTAIN that it is not in my lungs. The picture below was taken right after my surgery last week. It was supposed to be so minor, and I jokingly asked my mom to take a picture for my blog.
In much happier news, Shannon and Ted got married June 12, 2010. She was a beautiful, sparkily bride. I was so excited to spend time with friends like Heather, Jayme, Laura, and John. After the wedding we met up with Krystal and Mat!! I had the best time hanging out with them too and can't wait for putt-putt/go-carts in B'ham really soon!!
Praying for a great report on Monday!!
