My Nephew

After spending an entire week loving on this little guy......



I bought a plane ticket to Miami yesterday, so I can go visit him in 2 months. Matthew is my SIL's 7 month old baby boy. They live in Miami, so I only get to see him a few times every year. Since my SIL is a teacher and has summers off, I have gotten to see him twice since he was born in December. When they left last week, I knew the next time they planned on visiting would be in December for Christmas and his 1st birthday. I just couldn't go 5 months without seeing him, so I bought a ticket to go see him at the end of October for Halloween. My SIL and BIL bought a new house last month, so I am also going down to see the new place. I happen to be going to Miami the weekend of Fantasy Fest in Key West. Fantasy Fest is a crazy, out-of-control, adult Mardi Gras. Everybody keeps telling me that I have to go down there at least once in my life, but I don't think that is the place for babies. Like I told my SIL, I will be just fine staying at the house loving on my baby. Scott unfortunately won't be able to go due to lack of vacation days. Hopefully we will get to go back down there soon to visit and take a cruise out of Miami. HINT, HINT!!

Please keep my mom's husband, Rick, in your prayers. He has been battling pneumonia/lung issues for the past 2 months. He has been to specialist and had many test. I know my mom is nervous after losing my dad to lung cancer 6 years ago. The doctors have not even mentioned the "c" word, but I'm sure it is something my mom thinks about. He is on lots of meds and hopefully will be better really soon. We are leaving for a family beach trip in only 9 days, so I know he is doing all he can to get well. I will leave you with a picture of my mom and Rick from their wedding in Jamaica this past December.

I hope you have to best 27th birthday!! You deserve it. I am so blessed to have you as a friend. God answered many prayers when he chose you to be my potluck roomie almost 9 years ago. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you this year. Whatever it is, I will be right there with you.

Clean Freak

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to clean!! It used to drive my husband crazy, but now he just accepts the fact that I can't just sit and do nothing. Don't get me wrong, I watch tv and a lot of it, but I am almost always sweeping, folding, ironing, or dusting while watching "my shows". I have found a new favorite cleaning item, Swiffer dusting spray. I bought the lavendar, vanilla scent and really like it. Most smells bother me, but this one is great. Scott hated how Pledge left a slick, wax surface. His laptop would slip when I cleaned his office. I recommend everybody try the Swiffer dusting spray. Let me know if you like it as much as I do!!

2 Year Anniversary

Scott and I decided to take a mini vacation to Atlanta for our 2 year anniversary. We got to see friends, eat, swim, and go to the Atlanta Braves game. The Braves lost to the Mets, but we had fun anyways!! We got to see my best friend's new house and go out with her roomates. We went to a local bar called Vinings Inn and listened to an awesome band the first night we got into town.
