House For Sale

My mom has recently put my childhood house on the market.  If you or somebody you know is looking for a house in Southside, let me know!!  Mom was married in 2008 and moved in with her new husband, but my brother was living in the house until a few months ago.  She decided it is finally time to sell.  Leave a comment if you need more info.  I wonder if I will get commission if I find the buyer??

Good News

The procedure yesterday went GREAT!!  Once again, I've been healed by The Healer.  I do have a tumor on my liver, but it is NOT cancer.  The doctor isn't really sure what it is at this point.  The plan in to continue with my 3 month test/scans (next checkup is 7/11) and if the liver tumor continues to grow we will have to remove it even though it is benign.  Thanks for the prayers.  Last night, Scott said that God must have BIG plans for us.  I said we better get started on making little missionaries.  :)

I Will Praise You In This Storm

I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.

And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away

I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

It's been a stormy day in north Alabama.  Scott and I loaded up important things like wedding pictures, Junior, frozen meat, etc. and headed to Locust Fork.  Scott's parents have a basement, and we decided that would be the safest place to ride out the storms.  After an early morning trip to the bath tub, we weren't about to take any chances.  The pictures above are of us playing Boggle in the basement and Scott and Mr. P keeping us updated on the weather by looking at the radar on Scott's blackberry.

Unfortunately, another storm has been happening all week.  Monday was a state holiday (Confederate Memorial Day) and since I was off, I scheduled my 9 month oncologist appointment at UAB.  I have to go every three months and this was my third trip.  The past two trips have been very routine, and I wasn't even that nervous Monday.  After several test and waiting to see my oncologist, his assistant came in and asked me normal questions about pain, fatigue, etc.  He was impressed with my knee flexibility and left to go review my scans/test.  Dr. Siegel came in.  I'm well aware of body language and know when it's about to be bad.  The doctor sitting down next to you is NEVER a good sign.  He explained that they found a "lesion" on my liver.  He didn't seem too concerned and sent me home to fast and be back at the hospital by 8:00 am on Tuesday morning for more test.  Scott and I got up super early and headed back to B'ham.  After a minor panic attack during the CT scans, we were back on our way home around lunch time.  I decided to stay home from work and wait for the doctor to call.  He called.  The lesion became a tumor yesterday afternoon.  Ugh.  I'm about to vomit typing this.  My oncologist is an orthopaedic oncologist, so I was told yesterday that he wanted to discuss my test with a general surgeon to decide a plan of care.  My oncologist thought they would probably order even more test this week, but I got a call today during the storms that I need a biopsy immediately.  I go Friday.  I plan to go to work tomorrow to keep my mind from going crazy.  The doctors said that I will probably know Friday if it is malignant or benign.  If it is malignant, the doctors will give me my options and we will go from there.  Pray.  Please.  Pray.  What else is there to do??  Pray specifically that I have peace and comfort.  I am on day 3 of terrible migraines and vomiting due to stress.  Pray for all my family but especially mom and Scott.  Pray for my job security.  Scott made me promise to stop worrying about my job, but the state is threatening layoffs daily and my health insurance is more important now then ever.  Pray for the tumor to be gone.  Not just benign.  Gone!!

What I'm loving Wednesday

I NEVER buy CDs, but every song I hear on the radio by Jason Aldean is AMAZING!!  This weather along with Jason Aldean playing in my car is making me very happy.
OPI Dulce de Leche nail polish is currently my fave.  I was off work yesterday to run a million errands, and I got my nails done at a salon in Hampton Cove.  Mani/Pedi's along with this weather and Jason Aldean make me even more happy.  Give me a happy hour Sonic drink and I may explode.
I'm definitely not Darby, but I did go to Walmart in search of the "Darby dress" (which I bought and love).  I found this adorable skirt for ~$10 made by the same designer.  Darby was right....the material she uses is so soft!!

Resurrection House

Resurrection House is a walk through of the last days of Christ.  If you have ever been to a judgement house around Halloween, it's kinda the same thing.  Groups will walk through scenes like the last supper, crucifixion, etc. leading up to the resurrection of Christ.  If you live in North Alabama, I encourage you to attend.  You can check out our church website for more info at http://www.bethany-horton.org/ .  All ages are welcome.  It's not scary, so it's fine if you have young children.  If you plan on coming, let me know!!  Scott and I are both in the crucifixion scene although you can't see our faces.  I am Mary Magdalene crying at the cross, and Scott is the sound guy.

Yard Sale

Mom got married over 2 years ago and moved in with her husband, Rick.  My brother has been living at the house we grew up in until recently, and mom decided it was time to sell everything inside and get ready to put the house on the market.  We put our stuff together and had a inside/outside yard sale yesterday and today.  I made some money, but one trip to TJ Maxx and it's all gone.

Makynli Rose turns 1

Our Sunday school friends, Jerika and Micah, have a little girl named Makynli Rose that will turn 1 on April 3.  We celebrated her 1st birthday last Sunday after church in the fellowship hall.  Scott and I love you so much baby girl!! Happy Birthday!!

More from Baby Jones' Reveal Party

Shannon & Ted went all out with a gender reveal party a few weeks ago.  The Edgar's cake was the perfect way to tell us boy or girl.  I was right, and they are having a girl.  I can't wait for the summer shower and to meet Miss Jones!!

Montgomery

Mom and I both had a business trip scheduled for the same week.  I attended 2 days of breastfeeding training while mom socialized with other revenue commissioners and took trolley tours around Montgomery.  We left Monday for Montgomery and returned Wednesday.  We stayed at the Renaissance Montgomery downtown.  We shopped, ate, and enjoyed my favorite....hotel sleep!!  If you are ever in Montgomery, try Saza's downtown for some really good pizza.  Thanks Shelia for the recommendation.

The only picture I took....
