Weekend Trip

Scott and I are headed to Gatlinburg for the weekend with his parents. They rented a chalet and graciously invited us to join them. Scott and I never turn down an opportunity to hot tub in the mountains. My FIL and I are slightly obsessed with roller coasters. I can't believe I married a man that does not share my joy of coasters, but what can I do?? On Saturday, we plan to go here...............

I was watching the Huntsville news the other night, and they were reporting on the sales of beer and cupcakes going up during the recession. They interviewed a man working at a cupcake bakery chain called Gigi's. Apparently there is one in Huntsville and somehow I never knew. I got online and discovered that we will pass (well we may have to detour ~30 miles, but whatever) one of the stores on our way home, so I have mapped out a stop in Chattanooga for a sweet snack here................

Why Didn't I Think of That??

Oh Bounce, you have really out done yourself. I must admit that I really don't have a problem remembering to put a dryer sheet in the dryer with a load of clothes, but my husband often times forgets. Bless his heart. Well, Bounce now has a dyer bar that last months in the dryer. You don't even have to think about it. Putting a sheet in the dryer isn't hard, but my life just got a little bit easier. It regularly cost $4 and some change, but I had a coupon for a $1 off (Thanks Mom). I figure I might also be saving some money by using the dryer bar. I will let you know how it works. I am going to put it in the dryer today, so if ya'll hear that it has been recalled due to house fires please let me know. Don't comment on the blog. Call me asap.

While we are on the topic of laundry, I washed and dryed something other than clothes for the first time since we got married in July 07. I think that is pretty darn good. I have never checked pockets, and I don't plan to start. Usually Scott only keeps his wallet, keys, change, and knife in his carharts, and he empties all of that on the counter near the back door. Well, he left his masonic book in his pocket after lodge Thursday night, it got washed, and it was not pretty. Thankfully, his dad had an extra book and let me have it!!

My nephew, SIL, and BIL left today to head back to Miami, FL. I am going to see them in just 2 weeks, but I miss them already. The weekend seemed to fly by. The picture above is Matthew trying on his Halloween outfit my MIL made for him. The outfit is ADORABLE, but he wasn't so sure about being dressed as a lion. Hopefully, we will be able to get some happy pictures on Halloween.

Baby Legs

If you have a baby or know somebody with a baby, they must own baby legs. They are adorable. They make diaper changes soooo much easier plus it protects their legs when they are crawling. I know I am biased, but my nephew can rock some baby legs. Check out www.babylegs.com . The onesie is from www.Etsy.com . Every spoiled nephew should have a "My Aunt Rocks" onesie. I'm pretty sure if he could talk he would tell you his aunt rocks. I'm just saying.

Freeze Frame

Dear Gadsden Messenger~

Please don't publish a picture of me when I obviously didn't know I was in the picture. I have a face that needs to be smiling in pictures otherwise I have a double chin. I thought you were zoomed in on my mom and had NO clue I was in the picture hence the sad, depressed, I'm ready to get out of here look. Thanks. Casey

New Revenue Commissioner

Mom was elected as Revenue Commissioner in Etowah County November 2008. She is just now getting to start her new job. Today was her first day at work, and she said it went really well. I started to get a little worried that she was "too important" since she missed my phone call 3 times today. I have gotten used to her answering all of my random calls throughout the day, but she assured me that she wasn't too busy and gave me her new work cell number. The picture was taken Tuesday at the court house when she was being sworn into her new position. Scott didn't get the memo to dress nice. Bless it. I love my hard working man.

In other major news, Scott and I were asked to play Mary and Joseph in our church Christmas play. We (I) could not be more excited!! I will make sure that our family takes TONS of pictures, so stay tuned to see me with a baby bump. They are using a real newborn, so please start praying now that all goes off without a hitch.
