Scott's Random Accident

Last night at dinner, Scott randomly mentioned that he had a small accident at work. He was apparently cruising timber in dense woods, and he moved his head quickly to the left to dodge some brush and a stick went into his ear. He wasn't in pain or having any trouble hearing, but he could tell that he didn't feel right. When we got home, I called all of my nursing friends to ask what we should do since the walk-in clinics were already closed. I couldn't get in touch with anybody, so we decided to put alcohol in his ear to maybe clean out any infection. Well, we soon discovered that his ear was bleeding. We went to the doctor first thing this morning. Unfortunately the doctor could not tell what was going on inside his ear due to all of the bleeding, so we are scheduled to make a visit to the ENT doctor next week. For now, Scott is taking lots of meds and ear drops as seen in the picture above. He also had to get 3 shots which he HATED. Please keep Scott in your prayers. He is worried since the doctor scared us both by telling him to be careful to not get water in his ear. The doctor said that water in his ear could cause him to be dizzy and never walk a straight line for the rest of his life. Scott is so sick of hearing me tell family on the phone my joke of the day which goes, "We are playing it by ear". Come on, that's funny.

On a much happier note....it is beginning to feel more like fall although I am pretty sure we still have some hot August days ahead. The sunset last night was too pretty not to photograph. Have a blessed weekend!!
